In Les peintres flamands de paysage au XVIIe siècle (Brussels, 1987), Yvonne Thiéry and Michel Kervyn de Meerandré wrote that this painting belongs to the Musée des Beaux-Arts of Orléans (France).
Asked about this painting, the Musée des Beaux-Arts of Orléans wrote (April 14, 2014) that despite their searches, they could no find a trace of this painting. They suggest three possible explanations for this. Either the mention by Thiéry and Kervyn is erroneous. Or this painting is registered with the museum under another name or title and could therefore not been found yet. Or the work was destroyed by bombing or looted at the end of World War II. But it certainly was not voluntarily alienated.
